                                    Course: Computer Applications Cycle              Grades 6,7,8

 

 

I.          Course Overview

            A hands-on study of computer applications and software as tools.  Students will

           learn to integrate the skills and techniques learned in this course into other subject

           areas, as well as, real world endeavors.  Although areas are visited and revisited,

           the year begins with Microsoft Word, (assimilating fonts, styles, columns, charts

           and graphics), and proper keyboard use and Internet safety.  Students will expand

           into spreadsheets, presentation software, databases, and digital photography.

            A.  Quizzes – traditional grades

            B.  Performance assessments – percentage of tasks correctly completed

            C.  Projects – rubric-based, accumulation of several class periods’ work

                encompassing a variety of skills
